We would like to warmly recommend David, who really made our trip to Siem Reap a success when it could easily have been less agreable. We have two young daughters, you see, and because they are both younger than 4 it meant we would have a different holiday then if we went just the two of us - me and my husband. We knew that visiting too many temples would be tough on our kids, so it was a matter of stricking a fine balance between culture and comfort. David helped us to do exactly that: when he noticed that the kids had enough, he would customize his route in such a way that we would still see and learn what we could but that we would accomodate for the children as well - lots of time for breaks, water whenever we needed it, and some great distractions like riding on the elephant to the South Gate of Angkor Thom, which they both loved! Thanks a lot David and congratulations: you have been certified by this mother to act as a guide in Siem Reap for families with young children.
Kind regards,
Barbara Kniphorst

I traveled alone to Siem Reap. David was prompt with our schedule, as was a great guide. Very knowledgeable and used good humor too! I think I finished the park visit sooner than planned, so he offered to take me to the Artisan Village in town. I highly recommend that stop as well. Thanks again David for a great day!

Sovann was a wonderful guide for our family on our visit to the temples of Angkor. He knows so much--about the temples themselves (their creators, the mythological stories depicted in the sculptures). But just as important for our enjoyment was that he knows the best entrances and times to visit the temples to avoid the crowds. He also knows just where to stand to get the best views and the best photos. Every time he would tell us where to stand, a stunning vista was revealed. Though we came to Cambodia to see art and architecture created hundreds of years ago, we also learned a lot about recent history and contemporary Khmer life chatting with him on drives in between temples. He talked about the history and politics of Southeast Asia but also family life and the economy as well as random fun facts about people we passed along the way. He was also good with the 12-year-old boy in our party, easily discussing insects with the boy in one breath and Hindu iconography with the adults in the next. We learned so much and enjoyed his company. Highly recommended!

My wife and I had the pleasure to have Sopheap as a guide for a 3 day tour in May 2016. Sopheap showed us a vast variety of temples, including Banteay Kdei, Baphuon, Bayon, Sras Srang, Ta Prohm, Preah Kan, Neak Poan, Prek Ko and Bakong and more remote ones like Beng Mealea and Banteay Srey - as well as Angkor Wat of course. We’ve also been at the Landmine Museum which should be on your list if you’d like to learn more about the history of Cambodia.

Sopheap is extremely knowledgeable and a pleasant person to be with. He is funny at times and has impeccable soft skills, almost anticipating your wishes and needs. As a bonus he is also an excellent photographer with an eye for creative angles and the best lighting conditions. We highly recommend Sopheap as your guide of choice!
